Donations

All Units within the Sydney West Area Health Service need to keep pace with the new discoveries of medical science, new techniques and new developments.

The Government provides an operating budget for running expenses. Grants for capital items such as new equipment are often severely limited. The cost is great - the need is great.

Donations are earnestly sought and will be greatly appreciated to provide equipment of the highest standards, in keeping with established practice.

Senior officers at each Unit are available, on request, to clarify any matter or provide advice concerning proposed donations or bequests.

Taxation

All donations by private individuals or organisations are allowable deductions for income tax purposes under the provisions of Section 78 of the Income Tax Assessment Act.

Methods of Bequest or Donation

It is suggested that any special request as to the application of a bequest or donation be expressed in terms as general as possible unless, of course, previous consultation has taken place with representatives of the Unit. Otherwise, we may be hampered in carrying out the real intention of a testator by detailed directions which are unsuitable either to existing or to future conditions.
