The Growth and Development Clinic
The Growth and Development Clinic follows the development of children who required neo-natal intensive care and were very premature, or very sick, at birth.
The Growth and Development Clinic offers:
-
Assessment focusing on your child's abilities and needs as they develop.
-
Support and reassurance to you and your family.
-
Ideas and suggestions for ways to help your child.
-
Referrals for your child to other therapies and services if needed.
-
An opportunity to ask questions about your child's progress.
We aim to work closely with you as parents, to enable you to meet your child's needs.
By following the progress of the babies, we can also gain information that can be used to help future families who need the services offered by Neonatal Intensive Care.
We check each child's progress at their corrected ages of 4, 8 and 12 months when they are developing most rapidly. We then see them at the ages of 3, 5 and 8 years until they are well established at school.
