Net Adolescent Pregnancy Services Connect (NAPSConnect)
Nepean Hospital
A dedicated multidisciplinary team supports the care of pregnant adolescents at Nepean Hospital. The main core of this team comprises of an Obstetrician, a Social Worker and a Clinical Midwifery Consultant. There are 2 antenatal clinics facilitated for pregnant adolescents on a Tuesday and Wednesday at Nepean Hospital. An outreach antenatal clinic is facilitated at The Warehouse, Penrith on Wednesday afternoons.
A one-day Childbirth and Parenting education session for young women 20 years and under and their support people is held every month. This is a free service however booking in is required.
The Clinical Midwifery Consultant and the Social Worker provide a hospital antenatal and postnatal follow up service for young mums.
The Nepean Hospital Midwifery@HOME service provides postnatal care for young mums within their residence.
