HeathLink Directories
About the Records in our Databases
In November 1999, HealthLink Directories joined LINCS (Local Information Network for Community Services), a network initiated by Data Diction Pty Ltd. LINCS members come from various backgrounds including local councils and disability service providers and are committed to working together to create databases that support information and referral mechanisms.
Records created and maintained by LINCS members are stored in one large database. This means that when you use the internet version of the HealthLink Western Sydney Database you can access records maintained by HealthLink Directories (almost 2,000 records) as well as those maintained by other LINCS members (over 50,000 records).
Although LINCS members agree to follow strict data entry and quality control guidelines, HealthLink Directories is not able to guarantee the accuracy of records owned by other LINCS members. Each record has a tag in the bottom left hand corner that identifies the LINCS member who maintains that record. Records maintained by us are tagged as HealthLink Directories.
New members of LINCS usually have their own records that may be duplicates of records maintained by existing LINCS members. These duplicates are eliminated as soon as possible, but you may find records maintained by other LINCS members that are duplicates of HealthLink Directories records. In this instance we suggest that you use our record in preference.
