Service Outline:
The responsibilities of the Directorate of Clinical Operations are to plan, establish, manage, develop, monitor and report on all aspects of the clinical services, and to oversee the health care facilities located within the boundary of the SWAHS.
The Directorate of Clinical Operations consists of two components. The first component is Clinical Networks which span the whole of the SWAHS; the second component is groups of facilities within a defined geographic area.
In summary, the Directorate of Clinical Operations is arranged as follows.
The Director Clinical Operations (DCO) is responsible for the operation of all aspects of the clinical services and associated support arrangements. This position is directly responsible for the management of 4 senior positions titled Cluster Director Clinical Operations (CDCO). Each CDCO will be responsible for managing a mix of clinical networks and services and a number of health service facilities in a defined geographic area, which combined form a “Cluster”.
The DCO is the single point of organisational accountability of clinical operations including overseeing the financial monitoring and reporting of 14 clinical networks. Information about how the Networks and Clusters are arranged is provided below.
